Recipe: The Perfect Bowl of Good Morning Oats

Oats are a staple in our winter kitchen! Try these delicious steel-cut oats, and make getting out of bed in the morning your favourite part of the day.

You’ll need:

  • 2/3 cup oats

  • 1 cup coconut milk

  • 2 teaspoons sunflower seeds

  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin seeds

  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds (black or white)

  • 2/3 cup coconut yoghurt

  • 1 banana, cut in half and sliced lengthways 

  • Ground cinnamon

To make:

  • In a bowl combine the oats and coconut milk, cover and leave overnight either on the benchtop or in the fridge.

  • When ready to eat, separate the oats evenly between two jars or bowls. Top each with 1 teaspoon of sunflower, pumpkin and chia seeds.

  • Spoon half of the coconut yoghurt and half the banana on top.

  • Sprinkle both with a pinch of cinnamon.
